More exotic birds and monkeys awaited inside a building within this area, but in typical two-year-old fashion, my now tiring little one refused to venture inside. "Go to zoo," she insisted. I believe she thought going inside meant leaving the zoo behind and that her dear old ma must be crazy to be telling her that monkeys lived in a building. Ah well, the good news for winter visitors to the zoo is that there are some indoor exhibits where you can warm up for a spell on a blustery day... if you're not toting a toddler.
